Teamwork

Sigh! Look at my little guys. They are so big, trying new things every day. I'm so proud of them, and at the same time it breaks my heart. Why are they so big in only a year? Shouldn't I have gotten more time with them as newborns? Did I take enough pictures, video. Did I give enough hugs and snuggles? I think so.

Noah is such a little dare devil. He's the one who began pushing chairs. He lets go now when he reaches from one standing point to the next. As you can see, he stands on the hearth. He crawls under the table. We suspect he will walk soon. So big, and his "little" brother Avery follows :)

It's not always teamwork, though. Avery has the MINE complex. It's all his. If he's played with it, touched it, licked it, seen it, it's his. If you disagree, he arches his back and throws himself to the floor with loud fake cries and kicking. Oh good, a project for me to work on. Should I call his mom? Oh wait, I am his mom :) No escape there.

Is there anywhere they can't go?

This is what we call the pit. They hate it, especially if we put them in there and walk away. It's our living room, and is gated off from the kitchen and dining room. This is their favorite past time, standing against one of the opening and convincing us of why we should let them out. We usually do, because everything is babyproofed now.
They each have one of these walkers, but Noah is much better at it. He has better balance, and can walk all the way across the room. Turning defeats him, though. That's when he gives up the walker and crawls away!
Here is Avery with their roller coaster toy. They love to stand against it and shake the wires.
Our new table! OK, the underside. We are in the process of recovering the seats, and Noah found it amusing to get underneath, but he needs help back out. He also crawled under the island cabinet in our kitchen to get to me. He made it almost the entire way, and then I had to help him out. He can't figure out how to drop his head at the end.
I finally took all the knobs off of the drawers and doors at their level. Much easier now, and the firewood has gone away. They love to sit on the hearth because it's so low.

I'm behind and I know it!

This was last week. We had a "yes, we will dress like twins, today" kind of day. Jen at Double Cuddles even commented on it, since I hardly EVER dress them this close. Do you like my Avery in a box? Just like mom. ;)
You will notice Noah's shinner here. I was sitting with another little girl at Double Cuddles and he went for the glider rocker. It rocked and down he went. Much tears and a nice little bruise. They have so many little bruises now, they are so busy. Their busy-ness usually involves undoing something I have just done or am in the process of doing. VERY helpful.
We got this nifty little toy at DC. It is a very spread the love kind of group. You bring in what you no longer need and take what others bring in. I can't tell you how many clothes we've gotten/taken in. I love it. I would rather give clothes there than anywhere else, just because we've gotten so many there (and believe me, we have a LOT of clothes to give away!)

They are standing and cruising around everythink now. In the next post I'll show them with their walkers!

Here are a couple of moose that were hanging out in our yard a few weeks back.

On the move...

My little boys are movers and shakers now. You've read about the banana routine in the morning, and now we have this development. The boys can now take themselves out to the highchairs. No more multiple trips by Mommy. The only problem is, it now takes a much longer time, as you will see. Between their room and the breakfast room are MANY distractions.

#1. Is the office door open? They always check. Many interesting things are in the office.

#2. The humidifier. Makes noise, you can stand against it.

#3. The intake vent for the heater. It makes a wonderful noise when you run your hand against it.

#4-#3,261, 985 and counting! The gate to the cats bathroom, the door into the hallway, the stair rail, Daddy's guitar, the toys in the dining room, the chairs, etc. The list goes on and on. At least now (but not in the video) we have it blocked off so that there is only one way to go. That is through the dining room to the breakfast area, and then the kitchen. We blocked off the loop.

And crawling is ONLY the beginning. Noah has begun to stand for longer periods. Here it comes.........
