Funny things funny boys say...

About a month ago, I worried to Jen A. at our playgroup that the boys weren't using any sentences yet. She told me not to worry, they were doing fine. A week later, the verbal explosion began. Here are some of the most frequently used phrases in our house now.

Noah and Bo- he's going to harass this cat to death, and the cat will let him
*"Show me" followed by "coming" These are both commands. I've said "show me" so many times when I don't understand them, that it now means to them "I want to show you something, are you coming?"

The boys and Irish, or Iris.
It phrases, as in Read it, drop it, or the always favorite TOOK IT! Context-he took the thing I had. This phrase also applies to Da Da. He has been told on.

Puzzle time with Lucy
Avery says "Awesome" and "Bless you" whenever someone sneezes or coughs (or when he does it) He also apologizes when he bumps into you, even if you happen to be a chair. Noah says "so fast!" Not really sure of the context of that one, but it's cute. My favorite Avery phrase is "Job Bug!" He says it when he thinks he has accomplished something, because Mama and Da Da say, "Good Job, Bug!" He also says "Yes, I can!" as an affirmative to everything. Do you want breakfast? Yes, I can! Did you take a bath? Yes, I can!

They both say "funny" or "so funny" and most of the time they are right :) Both are partial to "Dump it out" which makes Mama say "pick it up!"

Their birthday jammies from Aunt Rita, with their names on them
they are both so articulate, definitely getting their points across. Noah relies more on sign than Avery does (though they both still sign things) but Noah just doesn't talk as much as Avery does. They love to name who things belong to, very into the possessive. I can't believe how much they understand, and seriously think it's much more than we suspect!
